Creating Value

REnewSA is a place-based interagency collaborative focused on outcomes accomplished through leveraging public investment, incentivizing private investment, and maximizing the use of vacant, abandoned and underutilized properties.

REnewSA is consistent with the goal of SA2020 to "transform San Antonio into a world-class city with world-class neighborhoods" by the year 2020 and build on the foundation of recently-published strategic planning documents including San Antonio's Strategic Plan for Community Development, Strategic Historic Preservation Plan, Center City Strategic Framework Plan and Implementation Plan, and SAHA's Live.Build.Plan.

REnewSA is an interagency collaborative organized by the City of San Antonio and its REnewSA partners:

Department of Planning & Community Development * Office of Historic Preservation * OUR SA * Transportation & Capital Improvements (TCI) * San Antonio Housing Authority * Development Services Department * Center City Development Office * Nonprofit Housing Providers * Office of Sustainability * Build San Antonio Green

REnewSA Goals:

REinvest in neighborhoods

Provide high qualify affordable and market-rate housing on vacant lots to stabilize neighborhoods, provide greater opportunities for homeownership, maximize the use of existing infrastructure and services, and strengthen property values.

REhabilitate homes

Remove lead and other dangers from existing housing stock to improve health and wellness.

REvitalize commercial corridors

Improve the appearance and function of declining commercial corridors to provide area residents with convenient access to high-quality goods and services.
